Thursday le... so fast. Steamboat!!!

Today, I had a short lil' chat with Shuxian... We talked about what a crush is. And what like is. And what love is. And the difference between these. It was a really short discussion... 10min or so only. But it reminded me of Asmini. Haha!

Asmini was my poly friend. We used to hang out together alot in year 1. With Cecilia & Ci'An. Sometime into the 1st semester (or was it 2nd?), she asked me out for breakfast 1 morning and told me that she had a crush on me for quite some time already. At that time, I was quite dumbstruck. Like, u mean there are girls who actually like me? Haha! But she had a boyfriend, and I asked her what of him, and her reply kept in my mind forever:

"It's just a crush... no big deal."

Haha! Ya. Some more her boyfriend knows of me & knows she's crushing on me lor. Wah... But we continued being close friends la... until year 2 when she went to another class... Nope, nothing became of us. I appreciate such honesty between friends.

Which leads me to another query. In a situation where u might (but not neccessarily) lose a good friend for being completely honest, or (almost guaranteed to) keep that very close good friend by keeping to yourself, which would you choose? So far in my life, I've chosen to be completely honest. And I haven't lost any good friends because of that. Maybe a couple or so have been distanced because of my decision, but at least I know I've been honest. In primary school while waiting for the school bus to come, I always see this bag with these words printed on it:

"Honesty is the best policy."

And I always thought it was a typo error where it should've been police. O, the limited vocab of a 10 year old. Haha! But now that I know it isn't, I've chosen to stick by it wherever possible.

So yes Shuxian, I've always been honest with u. And always will be. =) And hey, I found the following definitions:

crush n.
A usually temporary infatuation.
One who is the object of such an infatuation.

like v. tr.
To find pleasant or attractive; enjoy.
To have an inclination or a preference.

love v. tr.
To have a deep, tender, ineffable feeling of affection and solicitude toward a person.
To have a feeling of intense desire and attraction toward a person.

So yeah, the dictionary definition of love. I recall having written my definition of love in one of the previous entries right? Well, for the record, my definition of love is sacrifice. If you love someone, you do anything for her to be happy. Yes... I'd do anything that's right.

Has he tried his best to love her? He doesn't have a clue. And he doubts anyone does. But he will continue to love his best! And he'll love her... lots & lots! *muacks*
