Toowoomba Carnival Of Flowers!!!

Hi!!!

Hai... wanted to blog last night but was too tired from the whole-day trip. Toowoomba was nice! K, it was quite far out, but nonetheless, it was better than Ipswich! Haha! I don't exactly know how so, but it just is. =)

K, I'll get down to the day's progress:

Morning, Jon picked me up & we all met at Louis' place. When everyone gathered there, we started the day with a prayer & headed out towards our destination! Yay! Drove for about 2h like that (maybe less?) and there we are! The first sight that greeted me was this:

Haha! So reminds me of Ekka can? Oh ya! I haven't posted my photos for Ekka hor? Haha! Aiyah, nvm la, it was pretty much like this picture also... but the fairground was much bigger la.

Anyways, all of us were gathered at where the parade would end. It was still some time before the parade would get to us, so I wandered away from the group, towards the start of the parade. Wah, walked quite far leh, before the start of the show walked past me. Haha! The following is a series of shots I got from the people who looked & waved & smiled at me, as well as some of the more interesting ones. =) Enjoy!

Before the parade got to us, the roads were already filled with people from all over, waiting for the grand show!

I especially liked this guy on stilts. Very striking color combi!

And this woman, who was happily flaunting her wings! She was on stilts too! And the wind was pretty strong! Amazing balance & control I tell ya...

Haha! The Australian (or Toowoomban) version of the Dragon Dance!

These white fairies produced HUGE bubbles from that wand thing in their hand! All the kids were ecstatic! Hahaha!

Bananas in Pyjamas! Haha! First thought: Daphne!!! *grin*

Oooo, I like this car! Or rather, the array of colors mucilaged on it. Haha!

There were a number of bands but I thought this one looked the nicest, coz the rest were like black uniforms or blue uniforms. Not nice de...

Oh oh! These 2! Haha! They're Fifi & Bumble from Fifi & the Flowertots! Dunno what's that... sounds like a children's show though. Haha! Anyways, the focus is actually the girl in green at their feet. Haha! She's quite pretty. =P

After the parade, we walked around the fairgrounds for like 45min, before proceeding to the gardens to look at all the flowers! Yay! To my slight disappointment, the variety wasn't alot. Most of 'em were the same species but different color only. Well, I've got all these flowers to shoot, so I just made the most of my 2h trip to Toowoomba! Carnival of FLOWERS!!!

But before that, here's a shot of some belly dancers patrolling the gardens amidst the beautiful flora!

These are aphids! Haha! Cool right? The owner uses ladybird beetles to deal with them. But yesterday was too cold for them to come out... and the aphids feast!

Oh, they had this competition throughout the suburb and community too, to raise the most flowery garden at home. This is the backyard of the Grand Champion for 2004 & 2006!

Haha! Just something I noticed in one of the gardens of one of the winners... Rodent skull?

Last but not least, the wonderful group of people who went down to Toowoomba & made the day a wonderful & enjoyable day for me! K, this isn't a posed shot, just candid.. and it's the most grouped shot I got. In fact, it's one of the few people shots I had out of 300 odd flower shots. Haha!

Ok, today! Sue came with us to church! Haha! But she said she was really sleepy... =( Well, nvm, hope u come again next week! Haha! At least for Ian? You did say he was good-looking! Haha!

After church we went to Mr Toys Toyworld! Wah, I bought 2 Bionicle sets... So cheap can! I buy in Singapore, 1 set would cost me like S$11.95. I buy here, 1 set costs AUD$5.99! Woo-hoo! How to not buy, u tell me?

Walked about some more & I found these Fairly Odd-Parents soft toys that invert so it's like 2-in-1! So cool! I bought Wanda & Cosmo! Haha! Wanda turns into a star whilst Cosmo turns into a moon! So cute! And they're only $2 each! Heh heh! Yay! So happy!

And now, I'm tired. Haha! SO sleepy. Some more I blogged lor... hai... my poor fingers.

Ok, tonight I shall study. Now, I need sleep! =)

Oh ya! We finally finished the stupid parboiled rice!!! *celebrates* Bought us a 10kg bag of normal long grained rice from Yuen's! No more parboiled! No more parboiled!!!

The flowers looked bland... If only she were there to pose in the photos. Everything would've been so much brighter! Everything would've been so much more a beautiful memory! *sigh*
