Iron Chef was fun!!!
'Ello 'ello!
Haha! Today's Iron Chef was fun!!! Fun fun fun! But I gotta admit I expected more people la... Only 7 people participated in the cook-off... But still, it was a great session of fellowship for everyone! *grin*
The secret ingredients were oranges & lemons & strawberries. Haha! 10 navel oranges, 4 lemons & a punnet of strawberries for each group... Oh ya, there were only 2 groups. Yep yep! We gathered at the Great Court & had a short briefing, and the groups set off at 1:30pm. Jasmine & I did the runners-up's prizes & the souveniors for the judges at the main refec there. Haha! So funny can! We were like drawing & writing & gluing, then before we know it, it was half an hour to judgment time! Hahaha! And we haven't finished the prizes also! Hahaha!
Today, I memorized 1 verse:
"Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of GOD."
-NIV Matthew 4:4
Haha! Coz I wrote that verse hmm... *counts* 12 times on all the prizes & souveniors! Yep! 1st 2 or 3 times I still had to refer, after that, it was all from memory already. Haha!
K, see see! Champions had red plates...

Runner-ups had blue...

And the judges had green cutlery! Nice hor nice hor? Haha!

And here's all of 'em together! So pretty!

K, we waited for them for some time. Both groups were late, but Louis' group came first, so they arranged & stuff... and all of us took lotsa photos! Haha! Look look!
Their opening dish: Salad! (No, I'm not gonna mention their scientific names... yes, they have scientific names... given by ST. Haha!)

Orange & lemon slices wrapped in chicken fillet!

Curry rice with a hint of orange, with strawberries for deco purposes only!

And their dessert! Oranges inside, honey & melted chocolate outside! Mmm... yum!

And their table of food! Yeah! Nice!

This would be them all. Haha! Bright & cheery chefs! From left to right: Dave, ST, Eileen & Louis!

After say 15min after the first group arrived? Yeah... after 15min or so, Eunice's group came! Yay! And they started to busily set the table... Their style was different from Louis' group. To me, the first group was more like a buffet style serving... (I like buffets... kekeke!) But the second group decided on a more (in my opinion) personal approach... A La Carte! Look look!
The drink, orange & lemon juice with soda water! Hey, nice ok!
Their salad! Mixed Fruit & Walnuts with Mayonnaise in an Orange Shell! Not bad at all! Colorful! They said they made this with me in mind... Awww... haha!

Their main course, Orange & Honey Baked Chicken, Mashed Potatoes with Rosemary and Cheese, and Asparagus, Orange & Cream Cheese Wrapped in Salami! Cool right? Haha!

There, the displayed set table. Actually they have an ice-cream dish also... but it was in the fridge of Segafreddo's when I took this picture.

Proud chefs with the personal touch! From left to right: Calvin, Eunice and Daniel!

And thus, the judging commences... Wah, so serious one lor. Haha! Got commentary on how the dish is made, what other ingredients were thrown in, what it's supposed to taste like, the meaning and the names... wah... haha! It was good fun! We had a taste of every dish, like share share amongst the judges la, so there'll be enough for the chefs themselves to eat.
The 4 judges (I don't have the photos yet but they are Jasmine, Melisa, Chung & myself) then went aside to discuss their ratings & stuff for the 2 teams while the rest dug in! Wooo! And after some really strict considerations and heated discussions and debates, the winner was decided. It was a really close shave man... really close shave.
The runner-ups! Eunice's group!!! Blue!!! Wheee~! Proud of their achievements!!! Good on ya, Eunity... haha!

And the CHAMPIONS!!! Mighty cooking strength! Hahaha!

Yep! And that concludes our OCF UQ 2006 Iron Chef Competition! And lucky Dave... He's from OCF GU (which means Griffith Uni) and incidentally, they're having Iron Chef today too! So lucky Dave gets to go back to them & judge their food with the title of Champion! Hahaha! So cool! Jasmine & I were saying too bad we knew too late, otherwise we can have a cook-off between GU & UQ... Haha! Yep! That'd be interesting... =)
Hey Una, I teach u how to take a break from people. U need to be selfish abit... think of ur own sanity, or the breakdown of it. It's preservation. Like I said, I know you're a people person... U agree to meet almost anyone whenever you're free, or have no urgent assignments to complete. Now u find that u need some time alone, find some time alone lor. Push off some lunches, some dinners maybe? I'm sure your friends would understand if u tell them. The truth is powerful... And well, consider my offer ya? If u wanna go Glasshouse Mountains with me, you'd be pretty much left alone if u like. I'll become invisible. *grin* I'm good at becoming invisible y'know? Haha! Then again, I have to see how my assignments go. I'll let u know again ok? Adi cannot be so unsettled one. Need to rule your country one leh! Hahaha! Silly girl... =)
Ok, I think I'm gonna sleep already. So weird. Never do much also feel sleepy... *yawns*
Oh ya, dinner was pizza! Yay!
How was the airport? Makes u miss me eh? *hugs* I miss u too silly horse...
Love me
if you
dare...
