Sunday...
The following paragraph is in chinese. You can set the encoding to UTF or Unicode to read it.
今天去教堂,每個人看到我,是乎要我死似的,都問我同樣的一句:“完了啊?”或 "You go and dye ah?" 當然,那是指染頭髮啦!但說出來時真得很像問我去死嗎。哈哈!
Anyways, that's the end of the chinese paragraph. The next thing I wanna talk about has gotta do with Sunday School class... Somehow we started talking about fellowship and its importance in our Christian life, about how it encourages and strengthens each other, and it's a source of GOD's words and reminders to build us up and protect us when we go out into the world. But people don't come to fellowship why? Because they don't see the importance of it. They don't feel that the fellowship is worth committing their time to. Work and assignments and other friends take priority over fellowship with other Christians.
And in fellowship with other Christians, it's not just a superficial hi-bye kind of friendship that we build... We ought to be genuinely concerned and express GODly love for each other. Yet, people choose to try and maintain many many superficial friendships, spending merely a couple of hours a month with as many friends as they can fit in their schedule, than choose to maintain and deepen a few truly meaningful, life-investing friendships that will impact their own lives as well as the other party's. Doesn't this show explicitly that we've got serious commitment and priority problems? Ok, regardless of what you say, I say yes! YES we do have problems with that... I mean, we as in people in our batch... The problem here is: how do we help them? *scratches head*
And it's not just that. The second layer after commitment is the mindset. People are having the mindset of "What can I gain out of this fellowship?" rather than "What can others gain from me being in the fellowship?" I dunno. Is that a spiritual maturity issue? I mean, my natural reaction to coming to a fellowship is the latter la. I really don't know. I hope I don't appear as complacent or high-and-mighty here... Of course, you should have some expectations from a fellowship so u know if you're growing right, but that should not become a one-way thing... We should get something out of fellowship, and we should give something to the fellowship. Am I making any sense at all?
Anyways, headed to COMEX after lunch, with Bingjun, Gin Gin, Clarence and Fu Han... Met Miky at Suntec to go also... but sad to say, this year's COMEX was quite fruitless. There weren't anything that's useless but attractive enough to make me wanna buy. Even the $99 Creative Stone Plus faded in value as we walked past millions of other stores offering 4GB for less than $100. The only fruitful thing was looking for and finding Mel's MacBook hard case at $29. Yay! =)
Bingjun & Clarence bought RAM for their com. Bingjun told me that his com is significantly faster now... an upgrade of 750MB RAM. Mine's currently 1GB RAM... think it could go up to 2GB? That would be damn cool right? Imagine Photoshop after the upgrade!!! Hahaha!
K... I'm starting to doze off... sorry...
The last thing I wanna say is that I had to buy a large slurpee to keep me cooled from bus stop to home. Haha!
Ok... time to sleep...
*yawns*
Oh, yes. I saw it again. And you posted again! Hahaha! But I'm not gonna battle it out tonight. Maybe some other time la... ya? Haha!
Good night everybody!
Love me
if you
dare...
