Upper Peirce!!!

So I went to Lower Peirce today... intended to take alot of insects but because it was a rainy day, there weren't many about... unfortunately. =(

Anyways, I also intended to take the sunset at Upper Peirce, which is a hell of a walk from Casuarina... and it rained even more when I got there... *pooh*

So anyways, here're a number of photos I got whilst walking from Lower Peirce to Upper Peirce... =)

The Bamboo Trail!!! But I don't recall seeing any bamboos coz I was rushing and the sky was like, black...

Just thought the design on the bench was nice... haha! And the seemingly never-ending path...

Here's another bench. Nice view eh?

Onwards, to the insects!!!

Oh, u know what this is? Guess! *tick tock tick tock* Ok! It's an ootheca. Know what's that? It's the protective foam that forms around the eggs of praying mantids! Only 2 insects produce an ootheca: Mantids and cockroaches. So there, u learn something new from my blog!

K, not all the ants are in focus... just a couple. My first (well, second. First was a butterfly.) insect(s) spotted.

This is some form of katydid... same Order as grasshoppers and crickets: Orthoptera.

An obedient fly that just stood there for me to take different angles to it! Then, when I finished, it just flew off! Amazing!

Another grasshopper. See the various forms of camouflage they take on?

紅蜻蜓!Haha! Classic song... *hums song in head*

More ants... ALOT more... haha! I forgot the name of the plant... but it produces sugars for them to eat... as a form of protecton for the plant against herbivores...

The long long long road into Upper Peirce. It takes 15min from Casuarina to the entrance of the park, then another 20min from there to get to the park itself... all for rainy weather... *bleah*

I've never seen a wild scorpion before... and here's my first! =) But it's squashed la... haha! Nevertheless, it assures me that scorpions roam the wild!

Upper Peirce Reservoir on a dark and gloomy sunset...

So, today has been quite a happy day despite the gloom and the rain. Despite getting semi-drenched and spending $1.80 on a stupid cup of kopi-cino. Despite risking shorting my camera and mouldy lens. I'm gonna do this again. Photography is therapeutic to me as cooking is therapeutic to Karen. Actually, cooking is therapeutic to me too... so I guess it's quite easy to lift me up when I'm down in the dumps eh? =)

Love me if you dare... 23:07
