Damn post...
I had thought that my next post would be a happy one, with pictures of various birthday celebrations. I guess that will have to be a belated post since I'm blogging from my office and there are things that are more insistent in life than birthday blogs...
Last night, I searched in 11 places but only sent 5 resumes out.
-Department of Primary Industries and Fisheries, Queensland, Australia
-CSIRO, Australian Insect Collection Manager, Canberra, Australia
-BioTest Laborotaries Pty Ltd, Australia
-Some insect education place near the Gold Coast, Australia
-Insect lab technician at University of Melbourne, Australia
-Some place in Sydney but they only want PhDs, Australia
-Sentosa (for the Insect Kingdom), Singapore
-NUS, Tropical Marine Science Institute, Singapore
-National Environment Agency, Singapore
-NTU, Biological Science faculty, Singapore
-A*Star, Singapore
5 I sent to: CSIRO, BioTest, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Sentosa.
Tell me where else can I find something that I'm passionate about? Sungei Buloh, maybe? Yes, I will try that tonight.
Ok, I shall go lunch first...
[gone for lunch - free mee siam!!!]
Ok! I'm back! Hahaha! Oh my... Office lunch-ins have got to be the best time of the working day... at least for people like me. I sat at the table with Auntie Cat and some other ladies... I-Ning, Jac, Sherry, Claudia, etc etc... haha! Some of them I don't even know their names! But they were gossiping and complaining about their bosses and what they do, and all the nicknames start coming out... and the ego of some poeple, and their bragging and all... oh my! And even though I have got no clue who they were talking about, it was too funny not to laugh! I guess that's my perk for today! Haha! Wish you were here to hear them. =)
Ok, back to my lamenting. I was saying I don't know where else to look for a full-time job.
Before lunch, I had a talk with our HR, and she advised that I should consider going full-time in the banking sector since it's where the most money comes and all, and considering the plight of my family, I need to start saving money in my bank accounts as well as in my CPF... which is very true... and which is very unnerving. And finally, someone agrees that I'm old... I mean, like, everywhere I go, people tell me things like, "Aiyah, nevermind la. You're still young. Take your time to find the job you want." Unless they were being sarcastic, I think they've all missed the practical side of life in Singapore. Sure, when you're young and healthy, such things are easily dismissed. What happens if you get older and have no savings for medical expenses and food even? Who are you going to be a burden to?
Maybe you can say I don't have faith enough to take things as they come. Well, I can tell you this: I believe I do have the faith to take things as they come. But when I start dying young and start living by a strand of thread, don't take me as a burden. And neither will I drag anyone down by marrying them or what... If I suffer, I suffer alone.
*ahem* Sounds like I'm taking things abit far. Haha! Oh wells... I shall just continue to search slowly... 10 applications a day.
Oh shit! I need to finish the poster tonight if I want to dine out tomorrow!
And I think it's time to change my blogskin...
And I want an infrared camera... *whines*
And, should I repair my Olympus lens cap so that it closes back properly after I turn it off? Not more than $76, the price of repair. But then it doesn't impede my photography leh... I cannot justify the $76. I'd rather buy an infrared camera...
And I need to go out to shoot the lil' critters again... and soon! Otherwise, I shall be smothered by passionless labour, or laziness, or worse! TV! GAH!!!
I should start exercising too... Stupid IPPT... cannot even get a silver. How can this happen to me?! I have NEVER gotten less than a silver... NEVER EVER in my LIFE!!! Shit! *pui!*
Ok... enough randomness. This weekend shall be my passion weekend. Maybe I'll top it off with a passionfruit ice-blended and shoot the pearls at people. Woohoo!
Love me
if you
dare...
