Dream job?

It's funny how when you get down to thinking really hard about careers that you discover that, maybe there really isn't such a thing as a dream job... Maybe you get a job that you really love, and you're enthusiastic about it, and you do your best and be amazed everyday for various (maybe insignificant) reasons. But how long can you stay like that for? Every job has an interest life span... even if you love that job very very very much, there will come a day when going to work is a chore and you wished u had another job, which at that time would've seemed like what you really would like to do. And it's the same with every job. Why does the grass always look greener on the other side after awhile?

Tuesday, I had the Bible Explained class with Tiffany. And it's funny how Rev Benson just happened to mention career choices, GOD's will in our lives and our obedience. He said something like this:

"Sometimes you wonder where or what GOD wants you to work as. Let's say you're faced with 2 jobs, and you begin to wonder which is the one GOD wants you to go. So you pray very hard everyday but it seems like GOD isn't giving you an answer. And then you grow tired and say GOD isn't listening to your prayers. But why can't it be that either option is equally viable, and what's important is that in whichever career you choose, you honour GOD in what you do. That is what GOD wants."

I think GOD really is amazing... how HE works through others in your lives... even those whom you aren't even close to... sometimes even strangers! Well, I get the message now. It's not where I am... it's how I work... But I still need to know where to go right?

Looking at the list of jobs that I applied for, not considering location and all, I would wanna work at the Australian National Insect Collection... maybe not as a manager, but working with curation and preservation, maybe sometimes even bug-hunting. Identification isn't that bad either... so yeah... that'd be nice. Actually, if I can do that at Sentosa's Insect Kingdom, I also wouldn't mind. Haha! Just that most Singaporeans, well, most people actually, have their hairs standing on end when they go close to one... and they really can't be bothered by what they can't usually see... so, Singapore probably is out on that one.

I wouldn't mind working at TMSI too! The Marine Parasitology course at UQ has spiked my interest in marine parasitology. If you guys had just experienced the course at Heron Island, the labwork, the observation, acquisition, and identification of the parasites in the fishes... like, wow! And "wow" isn't even adequate. I can't begin to describe the amazement and wonder... Right now, I just feel like "whee-ing" and "woo-ing" and "ahh-ing"... hahaha!

Wah seh, I can actually get high talking about the jobs I want to do and wish to be doing. Maybe I should email Tom Cribb to ask for recommendations for parasitology jobs. *grin* No, actually, I'll just send him and email about the recent trip to Heron Island! Mas totally enjoyed herself during the course... =)

Oh, obviously, you can see that I've got nothing to do today... haha! Gavin & MC are doing what I can't do... so... well, if they need some administrative help, I'm here for them. If only my computer lets me surf Clubsnap...

Love me if you dare... 16:28
