Free scorpions!!! Haha!
Heya!
It's been a short-lived weekend... Friday's OCF was crazy! Haha! Well, at least I thought it was. I was put in charge of the games, and I found 3 games which I thought might break the ice. And I increased the difficulty level coz... coz otherwise it'd be just too easy! I joined the 3 games together. K, lemme run through the games:
1. Talk Fest:
People are lined up facing each other, and they have to chatter to each other non-stop for 30s. They can say anything they want and it doesn't have to make sense. I just wanna hear some noise. Haha! At the end of 30s, they go on to Chinese Whispers, whereby I have given the 4 leaders 3 sentences beforehand.
2. Chinese Whispers:
Another name for this is "Broken Telephone Line". Basically the first person who got the sentences just passes the message down the line & the last person has to tell me what they've got. Usually the words in the sentences would sound alike so they'd get it mixed up, but I decided to use 3 funny sentences instead:
"A joke is a very serious thing."
"We all are worms, but I do believe I am a glow worm."
"If you're going through hell, keep going."
It was hilarious when u see all the chatter then at the end of 30s, the room goes almost completely silent. Haha! And people come to me telling me that "if you're going to hell, keep going." Wah lau... hahaha! I'm not so evil lor. Anyways, most groups got at least 1 sentence right. Oh, and these sentences are quotes from Sir Winston Churchill. Ha!
3. Scavenger Hunt:
This is the crazy part. My hunt list was as follows:
1 Hologram
1 Orange-inked pen
1 Pair of green socks (any shade of green)
1 PET bottle
1 inhaler
1 Spoon
5 strands of hair at least 15cm long
1 pair of earphones
3 rubber bands
1 metal ruler capable of measuring
1 Wheel
1 lock
1 AA sized battery
1 knife sharp enough to cut
1 Siemens mobile phone
K la, I don't expect them to find everything la. But the winner group got 9 items out of these 15. Not bad I suppose. Haha! The crazy thing was that everyone started drawing the items they couldn't get, AND they wanted to argue to me that if u ask a kid what that was, they'd say it was that and not a drawing of that, which I said when they showed me la. Hello, I'm not a kid can. My rebuttal was to get them to cut me using a picture of a knife. They say can... paper cuts. So I say "Cut me lor" Haha! I'm so evil right? Anyways, no drawings were accepted. Oh, and I'm surprised so little people knew what a hologram was! *gasp* Hee!
Saturday was fun! Haha! Remember? The BBQ? Yep! Met Debbie early, like 9am. Then we walked about Roma St Parklands abit coz it's our first time there. Spotted more than a few BBQ pits around the slopes but ST & Louis arrived early & got to their usual places before we even found them. So we colonized the pit nearby the artificial lake. And as they started preparing the food, I walked around the place looking for subjects for another Scavenger Hunt but I thought this time, it'd be a nature walk. They just have to take pictures of the stuff... haha! I got 24 subjects for them to look for, and I daresay the most they can find is less than 20. Haha! Anyways, all the 24 items that I requested for, I've got myself the pictures on my camera so they can't say that there isn't such a thing. *bleahs* Haha! Unfortunately, the weather was extremely hot (I do admit) and most of them were quite reluctant to go into the sun... so in the end, games were cancelled. Nevertheless, everyone had a wonderful time in fellowship, I'd say. =) After that, I went to the pet shop in Taringa & looked for them scorpions that Kate mentioned the other day. Wah! $45 for a medium one (which I really think is quite small) and $60 for a large one (which I really think is no different from the medium one)! No way am I buying them man... I might go catch some on my own though. Haha! Just a passing thought that may have manifested itself more than I realised.
Sunday! I went to Pauline's church coz going to Eight Mile Plains has become troublesome for Audrey to pick me up. Queensland Rail (QR) is adding another track to the Beenleigh line and so, have cut the line short... very short. So... aiyah, don't want la. Anyways, Pauline's attending Taringa Baptist, just 1 train stop from my place only. Surprisingly, it's SO VERY alike Barry's church (South Bank Baptist)!!! The interior is almost identical! Haha! So cool! Anyways, the pastor (Rev Bruce Pringle) started the first part of a 4-part series on "Christian Community", so, having been there for the 1st sermon, I suppose I'll be attending that for the next 3 weeks as well. Yep!
Today (Monday) I went to PARA3001 instead of BIOL3011. I think I'm really going to alternate between these 2 courses... Anyways, the news isn't in the lectures. Kate came up to me! Guess what? Robert (her boyfriend whom she lives with) says he's willing to GIVE ME his 2 scorpions for free!!! Yay! So I asked Kate why he's giving it away, and she said coz he doesn't really care about them anyways... like feed them once a month. Hahaha! Yay! So I'll see when we're both free lor, then she can drop it off at my place. Yes! *punches up in the air*

Hmm... more & more assignments piling up. 1 due this Friday... on the snails. Crap...

I don't like people who think they're right all the time. It's so irritating! They just have an air of superiority about them... like, abit snobbish. Stupid.
I also don't really like ppl who are eccentric about being health-conscious. Eat abit of charred food will die ah? Sunburn abit will die ah? Climbing around the place, getting little scratches & cuts, falling down but still laughing, eating dirty food, getting a little bit hurt along the way... all these are part & parcel of life what... Why so scared of the Australian sun, why so scared of eating some sand, some ants maybe, why so scared of getting an infection when you're cut? Why be so safe? GOD didn't build us to be so weak. Did you think people in the past have sunscreen? Did they have UVA & UVB sunglasses? Did they hunt for animals with full body armour so they won't get cut when they're crawling on the ground? Did they throw away a piece of game just because they dropped it on the forest floor? K, I honestly don't know. But I'm inclined to think the answers to them are no. Yet, they lived fruitful, fulfilling lives... Die then die la... why so scared to die? Haiyoh... please la... *tsk tsk*
Ok ok... I shall bear with these people. Love is patient, not easily angered, keeps no records of wrongs and always perseveres. =)
"喔!你的甜蜜 打动了我的心。
虽然人家说甜蜜甜蜜只是肤浅的东西。
喔!你的眼睛 是闪烁的星星,
是那麽样的shining shining
吸引我所有的注意。
不管是内在美可靠,外在美重要,
我已经不想去思考,全部都忘掉。
你对我实在太糟糕,我对你却太好,
如今我只能自己后悔,只能自己苦恼。
喔!你的甜蜜 已伤了我的心。
到现在你说对不起,对不起,
Sorry doesn't mean anything.
喔!你的眼睛 已刺痛我的心。
到现在你说对不起,对不起,
Sorry doesn't mean anything.
